textile printing

Its a really interesting way of getting patterns and designs onto fabric and it is called textile printing. This works like painting, but the paint is washed onto fabric with a special machine. Printing on fabric has been going on for a great many years, long before there were machines and you can do it in lots of ways. We get into the fascinating details of this vibrant art form within the world of textile printing.

I have never seen a shirt or dress with colorful design patterns. That is probably for the sake of textile printing! It is a fun and creative way to hand-stamp your individual touch onto clothes or decorations for the home. You can literally print on any kinds of fabric, for instance: delicate and comfortable cotton; shiny silks or synthetics such as polyester which is durable. Different fabrics result in different effects and appearance when printed on them!

The evolution of textile printing methods

In the 1700s, one of the foremost printing machines was invented. The printer could print only one color at a time (a far cry from how things are done now, to be sure) but it was markedly better than doing everything by hand. Over time, more sophisticated machines were developed which could print on fabrics faster and easier than before for those everywhere in the world that loved to be expressive with our pieces!

Others print things on the fabric by printing it in a way that is chemically treated or will pop up. Sublimation printing is a method that has become increasingly popular today. It involves doing a design on paper, special type of paper and then using heat to transfer ink onto the fabric. This method leaves vibrant designs and detailed images that will stun everyone who passes by in good spirits.
